How we protect your number

A banned WhatsApp number means a dead campaign and weeks of lost trust. Anti-ban protection is not an option in WhatSetter: it’s wired into the engine and applies to every channel: dashboard, campaigns, and even the API.

1. First contact always goes through the pipeline

Section titled “1. First contact always goes through the pipeline”

It’s impossible to “cold-message” an unknown number, even through the API (409 lead_not_contacted). The first message goes through a list + campaign: progressive sending, random delays between contacts, controlled ramp-up.

Every WhatsApp number has a daily message quota (150 to 250 depending on the plan and the number’s age). This budget is shared between the campaign engine, follow-ups and the API. No channel can bypass it to get a second one. Quota reached → everything waits for tomorrow (429 quota_exceeded on the API side).

A bot sends instantly; a human reads, types, then sends. Every WhatSetter message replays that choreography:

  1. read receipt on the conversation;
  2. “typing…” indicator;
  3. delay matched to the length of the text (human typing speed);
  4. send.

That’s why a send takes a few seconds. It’s deliberate, and it’s what protects your number.

  • No double-send: the same message can never go out twice because of a network hiccup (end-to-end idempotency).
  • Unsubscribes respected: a lead who asks to stop receives nothing more, anywhere.
  • Disconnected number = campaign paused automatically, with an email + WhatsApp alert.
